Very Short Interview, Part 2

For my second interview with an entrepreneur I know I asked him some questions.  I could not record this due to conflicting schedules between me and him.  I interviewed Jeff Groveman.  He attempted to start a coffee business in Gainesville but due to cost he sold it to a company in California.  I asked him: what the most important thing he learned was; do you have any entrepreneur plans as of now; and would you go back and change anything.
He said the most important thing he learned was that just coming up with the idea for a good product doesn't guarantee that it will sell.  You need capital to promote the product and you need to have a way to distribute your product.
Image result for LEvellesHis plans as of now is to finish his masters and hopefully get a job somewhere.  But he did say he had a great idea to make a healthy kind of juice that gives you energy.  Like a 5-hour energy or an energy drink but it is made with juices and not as much sugar.
He said he would rather have taken the money he got from his parents as a loan and invest it in starting up a business or something like that.  It would be kind of more reliable.

Looking back on the first interview I had with Jeff he has seen how hard it is to start a business and I can learn from talking with him.  In this class I have gotten more comfortable with talking with people.  Before I would keep to myself and I planed on just getting a job where I'm in a cubical but now I am looking for a job with more human interaction.

  1. Will,
I think it is definitely okay that you weren't able to record your interview. I was not able to record mine either! It's great that you still got the answers you needed to complete this assignment! I like what Mr. Groveman said about "coming up with the idea for a good product doesn't guarantee that it well sell." This stood out to me because I believe he is absolutely right! Yes, confidence is always a good thing, but you have to be aware that there will be obstacles along the way. Great work!

  2. Will,
This a great interview. If you ever feel like seeing a great movie that would relate to your future life I would watch Wanted. Alittle old but basically this guy becomes a sort of entrepreneur if you think about it. He gets to travel the world and becomes very social and he is also a grade A assassin. Either way you should check out my blog.
