Free Money

Image result for money clipartI decided to go to the bars to try and give away the money.  I told the people I had to give away the dollar to try to spend good fortune around Gainesville.  I spoke with 3 guys and 2 girls and tried to give away the dollars.  I walked up to the people and I would say, hi my name is will and I would like to give you a dollar to try and spread good fortune around Gainesville, then I would ask them what thety would spend it on.  One of the girls got very offended when I gave her the dollar and the other gave me a kiss.  All three guys took the dollar without a problem and when I asked them what they would spend it on they all said beer.  I thought I would be able to give away all 5$ without a problem, but I guess 4 out of 5 isn't that bad.

Elevator Pitch No. 2

Since my first elevator pitch not much has changed.  Most of the feedback I received was just people telling me its a good idea.  One person did suggest that Publix might already offer my idea, but I searched into it and they do not offer it here in Gainesville.  Here is my second pitch, I hope you enjoy it.

Customer Interviews No. 3

2) That price sounds reasonable, I would probably end up paying 14$ on a busy day for someone to go pick up dinner for me, and that would be worth it.

The questions I asked them were:

I went home this week and didn't have access to my video camera, nor is it a place where it is necessarily safe to record strangers and ask questions, but I asked some of my friends and I got their reactions.  I wrote up my mock idea and they were all surprised and thought it was a great idea.
1) Would you use this service? Why or why not.
2) Would a 8$ fee plus 1$ per item up to 10 items, or .75$ per item for 10-20 items be too expensive(can't order more than 20 items)?  If so, what would you consider making the prices?

Person 1 said:

Person 2:
1) Yes, I never want to go grocery shopping and I just end up eating out all the time.
2) That is a good price, I would probably save more money this way then going out 3 times a day

Person 3:
1) I would not use this service very much.  I don't feel comfortable with having someone get my food.
2) I suppose that is an okay price.

I am surprised that so many people found my idea to be good.  I never thought anything good could come from my laziness, but I guess I was wrong.  I now know a general price for what it would cost to use this service.

Idea Napkin No. 1

Hey my name is William Mercer and I'm an econ student at UF.  I think I am a creative thinker who finds out of the box answers for different problems.  I have some past experience with ensuring customers are happy with my past internship at a coffee company.  My idea is called Food2U and it is a service that will go grocery shopping for you and deliver the food to you.  If i were to make this business I would need to first make the website and hopefully find drivers/shoppers that will work for me.  I will offer this business to any customers within a certain mileage radius of different grocery stores (similar to how pizza places deliver).  This will be a great benefit to customers who don't have time to shop or just don't want to go shopping.  This is a great service for people who are busy or lazy.
I will make sure to promote Food2U a lot.  Just relying on word of mouth alone won't be beneficial.  I will set up multiple advertisements around the UF campus and try to get in some coupon books at local businesses.

Elevator Pitch No. 1

My elevator pitch was for my business called Food2You.  Many times I have not eaten dinner or ate terrible fast food because I was too lazy to go to the store and buy groceries.  This business will have someone go to Publix for you and get your groceries so you don't have to.
