I decided to go to the bars to try and give away the money. I told the people I had to give away the dollar to try to spend good fortune around Gainesville. I spoke with 3 guys and 2 girls and tried to give away the dollars. I walked up to the people and I would say, hi my name is will and I would like to give you a dollar to try and spread good fortune around Gainesville, then I would ask them what thety would spend it on. One of the girls got very offended when I gave her the dollar and the other gave me a kiss. All three guys took the dollar without a problem and when I asked them what they would spend it on they all said beer. I thought I would be able to give away all 5$ without a problem, but I guess 4 out of 5 isn't that bad.Sunday, February 21, 2016

ReplyDeleteI wish you had a video of the girl that got offended because that is peculiar. Going to the bars was a smart strategy on your part because it is a place where one dollar bills are frequently used, usually as a tip to the bartender or towards a cheap drink. Your stories were interesting so thanks for sharing!
Hey, Will! I agree with Lauren! It would be interesting to see the girl's reaction who got offended. The environement that we are in also influences our spending. ReplyDeleteI find it funny that you went to a bar, and I am not shocked at all that the individuals you offered the dollar to accepted it without hesitation. Obviously bars are usually an open and casual environment where people feel more comfortable approaching others and being approached. I also think the age factor may have contributed to their reactions, I'm assuming you went to one of the bars near campus where most of the patrons are our age.
